SmartScreen warns once because the first Windows installer is not code-signed; check the file, then choose More info and Run anyway.
Applies to: Agilelogin for Windows, first release.
What will you see?
The Windows installer for this release is not code-signed. The first time you open it, Windows SmartScreen shows a blue dialog titled Windows protected your PC. That dialog is expected for an unsigned installer; it is not a report about the file’s contents.
To continue, select More info, then Run anyway. The installer then runs like any other.
How do you check the file before running it?
Once the installer is published, the Download page shows its SHA-256 checksum. Before you run the installer, compare the file’s checksum with that value. To compare:
- Open PowerShell in the folder you downloaded to.
- Run
Get-FileHash <file name> -Algorithm SHA256. - Compare the value it prints with the checksum on the Download page.
If the two values differ, do not run the file. Download it again from agilelogin.com only.
What the warning does not cover
The dialog is about the installer. The browser kernel, Polychrome, is a separate download: on the first launch the app itself fetches it, verifies its checksum and unpacks it. Files written that way carry no Mark of the Web, which is the marker SmartScreen checks. So you see the warning once, for the installer, and not again for the kernel.
Smart App Control
Windows 11 with Smart App Control turned on has not been tested with this release. Smart App Control does not rely on the Mark of the Web, so it may block the unsigned kernel when a Profile starts. If a Profile will not start on such a machine, write to support@agilelogin.com with the message the app shows.
Requirements
Windows 10 or later on a 64-bit (x64) PC. Windows on ARM is not supported.
